Mrs. Annie Summers McCollum was born July 12, 1932 to the late Claude Miller and Leona Summers. She answered the call and quietly went to sleep February 7, 2015 at the age of 82. She dedicated her life to her family and was unselfish in all that she did. She will be greatly missed by everyone with whom she came in contact. She gave 50 years of dedicated service to the Comptan, Seager, Murphy, Remmy and Godwin families where she was more than an employee, she was family. She retired in 2009. She loved to cook, sew, reupholster furniture, and go deep sea fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry McCollum, her brother, Claude Summers, one son, Larry McCollum and one daughter, Faye McCollum Waddell. She leaves to cherish fond memories six children, Darryl (Tina), Joe, Randy (Karen) Holt, Leslie McCollum Holt and Hazel McCollum Parrish (Alan) all of Greensboro, NC, one brother, Reverend Dave Brown (Louise), 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 10 great, great-grandchildren.
