Mrs. Anna Mae Louis Jefferies was born September 5, 1926, in Thomasville, North Carolina to John Smalls and Daisy Patterson Smalls. She departed this life on November 27, 2022, to be with the Lord. She was married to the late James Jefferies for over 50 years, and they raised their family in Greensboro, NC.

Anna worked at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for more than 25 years before retiring in 1991. She loved being around family and friends especially her grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her children (George Louis, Anna (Anne) Louis, Betty Anne Winchester, Willie James Louis, Peggy Lee Warren).

Left to cherish her loving memories are three daughters, Ruth Patrick, Dorothy James (Howard), Mae Helen Lewis, and one son Jesse J Louis (Cynthia). She also has one younger sister, Daisy Ruth Potts of Greensboro, 28 Grandchildren and host of Great Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leatdeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; the rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the day of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 2:30pm Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation 2pm. Burial will follow at Piedmont Cemetery.
