Obituary

Mrs. Anita Diane Perry Bennett departed this life on Thursday, October 29,2020.

She was born on January 22, 1957 in Guilford County, to Virginia Perry and the late Harry Perry.

Anita was a proud graduate of Walter Hines Page High School in 1975. She later went on to also graduate from GTCC and NC A&T. She was a life long member of New Jerusalem Church under Bishop Frank Williams and Dr. Kevin A. Williams. She loved to sing throughout her years in the Frank Williams chore assemble. The Sanctuary Choir and the G.G.O. choir where she was a very proud soprano.

Anita went on to work at United Day Care and even worked at UNCG where she found her true calling with the Guilford County Schools in the SNS Department for a long-lasting 22 years until she retired in 2019. After retirement, Anita was enjoying life and taking care of her mother along with the help of her daughter every step of the way.

To the world she was Anita, but to the ones that truly knew her, she was Nita-Bug.

Preceding in her death is her father, Harry Perry, and her beloved sister, Patricia Hargrove.

She is survived by: her beautiful daughter, LaQuisha "Squeeze" Bennett; loving mother, Corrine Virginia Perry; her loving brothers, Lawrence Perry, Mark Perry (Ida), Otis Perry, Marvin Hargrove III, and Clifton Perry; honor brothers, James Young and Richard Jackson. She also leaves behind three beautiful God-grandchildren by the names of Kiara Carter, Jordan Austin, and Eiya Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.

A private service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at New Jerusalem Cathedral.
