Alton Earl Morgan, AKA "AL", 59 was called home on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Beacon Place following an extended illness. Al was born December 29, 1955 in Kinston, North Carolina to the late James and Dorothy Morgan. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Clementine Bell. Al attended Kinston High School, Kinston, North Carolina. From a young age, he was always a high energy person who loved being outdoors. While still in school he worked with Stroud's Horse Ranch; training, trading and breaking horse. He took pride in being the First African American to ride a horse in the Kinston Parade. Al loved the game of basketball. He was a die-heart, ridiculously, overwhelming and passionate "Duke" fan. He lived to see "Duke" win the 2015 Championship and Coach K win 1,000 games. Al loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a wonderful person who never met a stranger and was the life of any gathering. He was employed with Colonial in High Point, N.C. He was a long time member of the Cathedral of Deliverance Church of God, where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Left to cherish his memories, his loving wife Pearl Morgan of 35 years, two sons: Alton D. Morgan Sr. (Kiri), and Antoine D. Morgan (Brandi); one daughter: Angela D. Morgan; four grandchildren: Cameron, Deon Jr., Hailey and Mason who will be delivered August 2015; one brother: James O. Morgan, six sisters: Mirinda Wallace (Wendell), Barbara Robinson, Gloria Sloan, Mary Rosber (Virgil), Winnie Morgan, and Patricia Williams; two uncles: Charles Morgan (Wilnette), and Daniel Morgan (Blanche); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
