Mr. Alphonzo Dale McCorkle of Greensboro, North Carolina, born to the late Nick McCorkle, Jr. and Yvonne McCorkle Smith, transitioned from his earthly home to eternal life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Beacon Place at AuthoraCare Collective at the age of 65. Alphonzo fondly referred to by his family as Dale was a graduate of Grimsley Sr. High School. He was employed with Cone Mills Corporation prior to working for Industries of the Blind, Inc.

Dale accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and would attend St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensboro. Although he suffered with sickle cell anemia at an early age and was faced with many setbacks, he loved his family dearly and they loved him.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by one sister, Arleatha Faye Eury.

Left to cherish warm memories are Randy Summers, Jr. (Tawani) Madie M. Bekoe (Aunt) Cousins - Cynthia McIver Sifford (Leon); Yvette McIver Gillespie (Andrew), Louis D. Bekoe (Shannon), Alphonzo Louis McIver, Jr., Paul C. McIver (Kelsey) and Allison E. McIver along with a host of other relatives and many special friends.

A graveside service honoring his life will be held Saturday, February 15 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3901 Forest Lawn Dr. Greensboro, NC. The service will begin at 11am
