Today we celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Alma F. Fox. Alma was born and raised in Gibsonville, North Carolina to the late John and Mary Foust. She graduated from Sedalia High school in Sedalia, North Carolina and then went on to further pursue her education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. Alma's passion for looking after and caring for others was apparent as she not only ran her own daycare service, but also welcomed all neighboring children to her home where they cherished her love and entertainment. Alma worked for many years as a certified nursing assistant caring for the sick and elderly. She enjoyed this line of work and spoke enthusiastically about her patients as she looked forward to going to work every day. Alma was the founding member of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Bible Study outreach at Morehead Simkins Adult Independent living center, where she attended until her health began to deteriorate. She delighted in many entertaining pursuits, she enjoyed various types of music, card games and bingo, and her favorite poem was Shakespeare's Sonnet 116. In her life review, Alma stated that having two wonderful children was her greatest accomplishment. She loved her children unconditionally, and would move heaven and earth for them. The one thing that she learned in life and wanted to pass on to her family is to love one another until death. Alma is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Foust, three sisters Pauline Quick, Loretta Jones, Rosalie Foy and one brother Alfred Foust. Alma leaves to cherish in memory two loving children: Tanya G. Newton (Kelvin) and John A. Graham Jr.; five grand- children: Brandon Hall, Iesha Summers, Sydney Newton, Justin Wright, and Pedro Graham; two devoted sisters: Deborah Mitchell (James) and Elda Duren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special friends at Morehead Simkins Independent Living: Brookdale Northwest and staff of Guilford Health Care. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Staff at Guilford Health Care for your continued care and support.
