Mrs. Alma Sue Davis passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

A service honoring her life will be held on Thursday, October 5 at 11 am at Mt. Olivet A.M.E. Zion Church; 2123 McConnell Rd. Greensboro, NC. The visitation will begin at 10:30 am.

The interment will take place following the service at Altha Grove Baptist Church Cemetery; 7376 Cottontown Rd. Forest, VA.

On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Alma Davis 89, entered eternal rest at Beacon Place Hospice Care in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was born on April 29, 1934, to the late Zebede Jones and Lillie Jones in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carol Davis and her son Carl Michael Davis. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Marion Thomas, Vivian Neal, Velma Moore, and her brothers Billy Jones, Levi Jones, Sr., Issac Jones and Bobby Jones.

Alma was a caring, compassionate and giving person. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Olivet AME Zion Church for many years. At Mt. Olivet she served on the Deaconess Board and was on the Senior Choir. She also was a volunteer driver. Throughout her life she worked in many occupations, including Amp for 20 plus years.

She is survived by her sisters: Helen Warren (Norman), Sadie Young; her brother: James Albert Jones (Yvonne); her sisters-in-law: Gertrude Scott, Jean Ferguson, Betty Harris, Evelyn Higginbotham (Wallace), Peggy Ferguson (Rodney), and Catherine Davis all of Lynchburg, Virginia; her brother-in-law: Willie Davis of Washington, DC; her daughter-in-law: Doris Davis; her two grandchildren: Ashley "Alex" Hedgepeth (Michael) and Michael Davis; her 2 great-grandchildren: Ava Davis and Ezra Hedgepeth; and a host of nieces and nephews.
