Alberta (Bert) Jarvis daughter of the late Coy and Margie Martin was born July 15 1929 in Guilford County she departed this life Tuesday September 17, 2019 at Heartland Nursing Home in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Alberta was a life long resident of Guilford County. She received her education in the Guilford County Public Schools.

Alberta joined Collins Grove United Methodist Church at an early age. She served on the Usher board, Methodist Women , and on the kitchen staff. She worked 20 years for Zeb Cleaners before moving on to A Cleaner World and Jefferson Pilot, Alberta also cleaned cloths for many in the community Alberta devoted her life taken care of her children and grandchildren.

Alberta was married to the late John Jarvis Sr. to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by daughters Pamela and Marsha Jarvis - loving grandson Joseph Jarvis, six sisters Georgianna Lindsey, Veroa Cruthfield, Margaret Maxwell, Ora Mae Williams, Mattie Hickman, Evelyn Martin, four brothers Seymore Hall, Curly Hall, John and James Martin. She leaves to cherish her memory son John Jarvis of the home, daughter Peggy Pettis of Norfolk Virginia , sisters Virginia Pleasant and Edna Cheek(Luther) of Greensboro brothers Eddie Martin of Greensboro and George Martin of New York a host of grandchildren great grandchildren relatives and friends.
