Mr. Albert "Al" Luther McGibboney, Jr., 52, son of Jacquelle Rodgers Knoll and the late Al McGibboney, Sr., began his life's journey on February 28, 1967. He passed away to life everlasting on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Al was born at the New York Infirmary in New York City, into the loving care provided by his parents, Jacquelle and Al McGibboney, Sr. He spent much of his early childhood in New York. He also spent time as a youth in Greensboro, North Carolina, under the watchful eye of his paternal grandmother, Dorothy M. Brown. He was educated in the public schools of New York City. After graduating high school, he attended Norfolk State University, where he majored in Business Administration. Al returned to New York, working various jobs, and then later returned to Greensboro to live. Al accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. He was well loved by family and friends; he especially loved his four sons: Nicholas, Johnathan, Christian and Bryce. Al was heartbroken in December of 2018 at the tragic death of his youngest son, Bryce McGibboney. In addition to father, Al, Sr. and son, Bryce, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy M. Brown and Mr. and Mrs. John G. Rodgers; aunts: Sylvia Rodgers, Aunt Yovonne and uncle: John Rodgers, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Paul and Jacquelle Knoll of New York; sons: Nicholas Davis, Johnathan Stowe and Christian Stowe; brothers: Paul Ali Knoll (Michelle) and Paul Knoll, Jr., both of New York; aunts: Hannah Free (Lacey), Della Hudson, and Gloria Blackwell (Gerald); uncles: Jeffery Rodgers, Alfred Rodgers and Noah Rodgers; the mothers of his children: Angela Davis, Melanie Stowe, and Tasha Williams; cousin, Jo'Anne Blackwell-Akarramou; special cousin, Martha Rouse; and a host of other loving relatives, cherished friends, and extended family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2700 W. Vandalia Road in Greensboro, NC. Viewing and visitation will be from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
